Technology & Today's Learner

Engaging Today's Learner provides increased student and teacher access to technology as a tool for teaching and learning.  Increased access to technology supports  personalized learning for students resulting in each student being prepared for their future. 

 

It is the objective of the AASD to ensure that each instructional area has the following:

  • Mounted ceiling projector

  • Computer speakers

  • Document camera

  • Wireless keyboard and mouse

 

Engaging Today's Learner provides students a "digital backpack," which will support the following:

  • Learning materials that are portable, current, and expanded

  • Student learning to be tailored to student needs and interests (Personalized Learning)

  • Student learning to occur anywhere, anytime (24:7 Learning)

Referendum Question #1, One-Time Capital Projects, will:

  • Provide base level technology for each District instructional area (900 classroom areas)

    •  Mounted ceiling projector    

    •  Computer speakers 

    •  Document camera

    •  Wireless keyboard & mouse

  • Provide mobile/personalized technology for students 

  • Provide each high school student (grades 9-12) with access to a mobile computer

  • Provide increased computer access for all elementary and middle school students. All elementary and middle schools will receive mobile computers at a ratio of 1 device for every 4 students in grades 3-8.

 

 Referendum Question #2, Operational Expenditures, will provide:

  •  Replacement cycle

    • Base level classroom technology; mobile/personalized devices; infrastructure

  • Five Instructional Technology Integrators; professional development
