Strong Schools, Strong Community

The Appleton Area School District (AASD) sent out a referendum survey to district households in advance of a potential vote this spring. The district is now considering if and how to propose a referendum to support students and we need you to show them our community gives resounding YES!

A referendum is how school districts get necessary funding beyond state imposed revenue limits.

  • Wisconsin's revenue limit levels were set in 1993 with AASD set lower than most districts.

  • It stopped rising with inflation in 2009

  • It has now fallen more than $2,000/student behind the state average.

  • AASD has already made cuts and needs residents to vote for an increase in the state issued limit to be able to meet student needs
