Three schools, Huntley Elementary, Einstein Middle, and West High School have current enrollments that have outgrown the space available to meet the large group needs of the schools (Examples: food service, i.e. cafeteria, large group instructional activities such as physical education and other large group gatherings, etc.). 

 

When schools were built, most students did not stay for lunch or come in for breakfast.  That has changed significantly as almost all students currently eat at school. 

 

The solution for Huntley and Einstein is to add Multi-Purpose rooms along with the accompanying kitchens and restrooms while repurposing the existing spaces into instructional space.  At West, the solution is to remodel the existing commons to more adequately meet the needs of the student population.
